Kannan (KN), the senior most management team professional, has over 37 years of experience in finance and business management. He has been associated with JM Chanrai for the last 30 years. Apart from his present role of leading the finance function and advising on strategies relating to investments, business and legal matters, KN also supports JM Chanrai’s social projects. He finds using his business skills to make a meaningful contribution to the society very fulfilling and rewarding.
KN received a Bachelor in Commerce from Madras University and completed his ACA from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He is a Graduate from the Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India.
Jayesh is an experienced investment professional with 31 years of experience in areas such as project management, corporate finance and investment research. Since 2005, he has advised JM Chanrai on investment opportunities for his global financial portfolio to help create wealth that ultimately helps build social interventions.
Jayesh has completed his Bachelor of Chemical Engineering from UDCT, Mumbai, and PGDM from IIM Calcutta.
A finance and investment professional hailing from a business family, Jetha has over 25 years of hands-on corporate experience in leadership roles. He joined the Chanrai Group in 2001 and currently supports JM Chanrai and family in managing the family office and ensuring proper accounting and compliance.
Jetha is a qualified Chartered Accountant, MBA in Finance from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, and post graduate diploma holder in Investment and Financial planning (PGDFIP) from the Institute of Finance and Investment Planning, Mumbai.
Mahesh is a Human Resources (HR) professional who independently consultants with various clients on HR related assignments. He supports JM Chanrai in advising on all HR issues, including hiring and inducting talent into the organization. He has been working with the Group since 2010.
Mahesh is a postgraduate in Personnel Management and a Law Graduate. Mahesh earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Modern College, Pune and a Masters in Personnel Management at Symbiosis Institute of Business Management. He later completed his LLB, Law & Legislature from University of Pune.
Elizabeth comes with over 27 years of experience in the corporate and development sectors across organizations. Elizabeth leads the JM Chanrai family’s philanthropic arm in India, Mission for Vision, which aims to eradicate curable blindness. She has various publications and research reports to her credit, especially on community programs to reduce curable blindness.
Elizabeth has a Master’s degree in Nutrition and has done an Executive Programme in Business Management from the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta.
Shravan has more than 20 years of experience in the public health and development sector, with extensive work done on a wide range of issues. He leads the JM Chanrai family’s philanthropic arm in Nigeria, Tulsi Chanrai Foundation, by providing strategic leadership as well as managerial and technical guidance to consolidate and scale up TCF operations across Nigeria.
Shravan holds an MSc in Public Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, University of London, UK and a Masters and Bachelors in Social Work from Osmania University, Hyderabad, India.
Naval has had a long family connection with soft drink company Duke’s, including over 25 years of involvement in the business. Currently, Naval advises JM Chanrai on all activities undertaken through Tulsi Trust as well as guides the management team of Tulsi Trust in all its social initiatives.
Naval earned a Bachelor of Science from from St. Xavier's College, Mumbai followed by a Diploma in Food Technology from University Department of Chemical Technology in Mumbai.
Prakash gave up his medical practice to devote his services to the marginalised in society and support JM Chanrai in his vision. He has been associated with the Tulsi Trust since its inception where he is currently a Trustee and was an integral part of the initiation of the eye care program in both India and Nigeria. Prakash brings a unique expertise of having conceived and established social programs, professionalizing them, and supporting their growth over the years.
Prakash earned an MBBS, Medicine from Grant Medical College, Mumbai.
Selva lived in Nigeria from 1975 to 1991 and worked first with JM Chanrai at a textile mill in Nigeria as quality control and packing in-charge. Completely committed to the social initiatives of JM Chanrai since 1994, he currently visits patients at their residences as part of the patient care survey process six months after surgery to understand the condition of their vision and satisfaction of treatment. He is further involved at a grassroots level, coordinating with village authorities, counseling patients pre-surgery and organizing other medical needs for patients as they arise.
Akhil had a 22-year long career in the army and took an early retirement in 2001 when he moved to Delhi. Akhil joined Tulsi Chanrai Foundation, Nigeria in 2003 – a cause he believed in. He acted as the country head of the organization and built the programmatic work from 3 projects to 10 projects in 3.5 years. After exiting a full time role, Akhil has been conducting detailed operational audits across all TCF projects spread over multiple locations in Nigeria – an essential task to ensure effectiveness of the programs and to ensure value for the money spent.
Subramonian is a Chartered Accountant with over 25 years of experience, but has significant exposure to designing and developing computer systems. He was inspired to join social initiatives that bettered the world around him in his retirement. Based out of Chennai since 1994, he has dedicated his life to the development sector through Tulsi Trust and Mission for Vision.
Major Zarekar has 42 years of administration, management and executive experience in diverse fields. In Nigeria, he was the pioneer and instrumental in starting Tulsi Chanrai Foundation in 1992. He served as the National Coordinator and Foundation Director of the organization. He currently is the CEO of a 135-bedded ophthalmic hospital in Nashik run under Mission for Vision that covers 3 million people from 7 revenue districts in Maharashtra.
Major Zarekar has earned a Bachelors in Arts, Bachelors in Education, LLB, and Masters in Education from multiple universities in Maharashtra. He also completed a Diploma in Social Work.
